Odd, well anyway I am recoding pretty much the whole map, a necessary pain if I want to really change the map (especially Kalendren >_>)
A few more features that I'll probably add, but one is currently giving me an headache gameplay wise. Next version will come but I can't say when (yet)

Hum, music might be useful, but only if it weight VERY little. I admittely pay a lot of attention not to make too big the map size.
Things are progressing... slowly...
edit : imported tables and functions that worked before are now completely fu***** the map rendering all test phases impossible...

@inferno : no indeed, the functions to GetUnitCost (using library) didn't work anymore so I removed it, which will probably be troublesome as players can't be properly refunded anymore in some cases.
Also there was some errand about getting upgrade units (lot of stuffs) but it turned out useless cause I couldn't get all the units I need so... back to a less efficient but working system.
Ah, almost forgot but there is something that won't be here anymore : walls.

I wish to see the day when the terrain can be generated to regions randomly to selected templates. But I believe that engine function would be more efficient and fit for Warcraft 4, a game unlikely to come anytime soon.

Asakari : I fear too that suck a thing is impossible for WC3 engine, however there might be eventually some surprises later... Regarding game-play, new systems made things slightly differently and allow a few possibilities which might affect quite a lot the game-play. *Now, using a set-limit units it's possible to have much more units available in one building, however this make older units unusable. However I am thinking that old version of units being completely impossible to use might feel... odd. (not sure how to put it). On the other hand, being able to spam musketeers at future age isn't much logical, so do you think obsolete units should be removed for creation lists as the players age up? *idea of making towers costing food has been abandonned, instead they cost both a new resource and a "maintenance" cost which reduce the player's income. Massing towers will be impossible, also with the new set-limit units possiblity, more towers can be added. Should more kind of towers be added and should towers become stronger? (walls are gone and towering is much more expansive). A few more things to ask probably but let's see how it goes first.

Uh, dude, taking out the walls is a big no-no. Kalenden's units are set to target units such as workers, for whatever reason, and then they enjoy killing houses, while ignoring nearby towers. You have to have a wall, otherwise things can just run on through and kill everything. Especially players, players would most definately take advantage of this, and run through gaps to wreck an empire. Making a wall out of towers wouldn't cut it; until you've gotten a ton of tech on them, they don't have enough health to be used as walls. Also, you shouldn't eliminate old units. If a player is in the future age, and suddenly somebody kills a majority of their empire, they wouldn't have enough income to make future units. They would have to resort to cheaper units from earlier ages. Besides, even in real life, we have all kinds of powerful guns, but there are often still people killing with swords, machetes (which don't actually kill properly, they take a dozen painful hacks) knives, even baseball bats (clubs?), and people are stoned (not in the good way). So, eliminating old units would not be a good idea, neither would removing walls. Walls are part of the game; they make it so that you can actually design the shape of your empire.

About walls, for now they're removed. I'll get the upgrading system working properly and then some tests will tell if yes or no I'll come back on this decision or not.
Also I keep wanting to facepalm when facing the code of H&E. Probably very few people looked into it but it actually had so freaking room for improvement, I see sometime very odd things... Object editor don't progress much as I am really somemone there but at least the triggers are getting much better.
Finally, if you've some suggestions regarding Kalendren and that's about making the game harder and/or with more possibilities I still take suggestions.
