aye, hero system has been extremely improved in hae2, empire also has some nice adds but maybe it just shouldnt be part of being hero... :/

also, there ar no real "strategic cubby-holes" for empires to build at which is better because it makes you think of where you are going to place your empire

very much so i like the terrain in #2 better because of its diversity, added detail, and "lack of strategic cubby-holes" for the emps

so i havent checked this topic in a while, but now i have some comments that go back about a page...
-In regards to the person who was complaining about not getting 'money' from quests(i assume you mean silver), you are simply not doing the right quests. there are several that always give money, and the other 80% are always exp. One example any time you have the quest to return a 'severed head' from the lobster thing towards the top-left of the map.
-On the subject of empires in hae2; The exp for units makes having an army worthwhile, but then again you can only have 1 unit of each 'type' because there are no ages so your first units built are the same as your last. Overall, the houses and design aspect of empires should become more complex again, I think, but the exp and use of only 1 unit is a good thing. Maybe make more requirements to create a unit..? have recruits become much harder to come by? Oh, and make it so your houses can actually hold more than 1/5 capacity.
-About terrain; There are still a few of those 'cubby-holes,' you just need to look harder and maybe on a larger spectrum. Some of the better places to build require a more expansive defense, just like how 13ringer and I like to control the top-left quarter of the map in hae1. Flak towers + walls 2 'blocks' away = good defense.
oh and i had an idea to suggest about empires while writing this---- make units either get new skills or upgrade the old one based on exp level, or maybe another tech upgrade. Medics just dont heal fast enough later on.

I just finished playing a game and realized that if you have an empire your hero is very hard to level up, maybe make empires more specialized.
Also i took some feedback from a couple people i was playing with. They suggested maybe putting an option for instructions into the game, like type the trigger -empire to actually learn how to build an empire, Etc. Also i don;t put much faith in this one but i told em i would send their suggestions, they wanted an agility based hero kinda like the ranger from before. Their only complaint with empires is there are no ages, everything is based on gold which comes way to easy, it really seems like the empire system was so dumbed down its just a glorified hero general. About the hero system i love it but it is kinda complex, maybe making the choice of specializing heroes like in HaE you had the necro etc. and make their specific skills stronger. EX. A ncro would get a bonus to dark based skills and a negative to light based skills but can still take them if he wants them. The last question they had was what ever happened to the blink ability? As without it it makes helping allies far more difficult.
My last question is can you add a trigger to have XP and silver shared amung the heroes traveling together? I was working with someone and they got most of the kills and we did quests and they got the bonus from quests.
Well just observations i didn't take time to read through the 7 other pages just skimmed a few of them.

i dont know for sure but i think exp from nearby kills is shared, and im almost 100% sure that quests are shared to everyone in the town at no cost to anyone. in other words, if person 1 does a quest, and should get 1k exp, then person 2 will get 1k exp if they are nearby when it is turned in.

yup, and if im not mistaking the share % is extremely high (not sure if its 100%). also, yes your hero's exp goes alot slower when you get adds like mercs, buildings or empire. empire slows the exp rate down most.
