Well sorry but i'm just out of ideas... except for a few that will probably get shot down. Have marketplaces slightly increase the amount of gold you get every income by a percentage of the amount of people you pool into Commercial. Commercial Sales Tax sort of, playing GoE gave me that idea. Shopping malls would work much the same way, only have a slightly larger percentage. Have each Church you build increase the amount of HP healed by Priest-type units by a percentage. Instead of having Hospitals have an aura-type of healing, give them the ability to load units into it to be healed, much like a Hideout. BUNKERS! make a building you can load units into that they can fire out at enemies from. Would only come late game when strong gun-using units are available.

Bunkers err umm you would have pimp ass towers and pimped out heroes by then so it would have to be early game... when you get archers

They spend gold on upgrades for wood??? im just going to kill my worker so i can get more units but i would need MORE wood when some of them die!
(lets talk on wc3)

you shouldn't be letting your workers die anyway... if the enemy gets through to your workers on wood, that are usually close to your town hall unless you just had to waste valuable resources on a woodcutters hut, consider yourself screwed unless someone or something drives them off. DONT LET YOUR WORKERS DIE. they cost 30 gold and 120 wood apiece, which is a steep price for your beginning resources.

i think what is being said here is the idea of using industry to make wood instead of workers. I usually do this after I hit future age, because it seems to slightly reduce lag (comps dont have to calculate workers cutting and returning wood), and usually makes it much faster anyway.
