When I said a special carrier unit I meant something they recieve from the quest, and it can ONLY pick up those specific items. Anyhow like Legacy said we gotta wait to see what they actually have done.

in response to legacy about empire items---i even stated that that would be a problem, and how to avoid it...
make a seperate set of items called 'empire items' that can be picked up ONLY by non-heroes. set a similar trigger for hero items. I also said that claymore and the like would not be good because they are a set amount, it should be a % buff(even if its just an aura with 1 range) so that it is equally beneficial to all units.
note that im not suggesting this for happening any time soon; even if its post-beta, i'd be happy to see it put in

its what i agree on, dont let carriers carry hero items, i think it might be doable. like that they can only carry 1 empire only item at a time and bring it to their castle to finish a quest and get (for example) an extra unit/upgrade

I just think maybe give the empires more incentive to send their units out to kill things. Like make it easier for empires to level up their units. It's really hard to level up big group of units because only a couple of them get kills.
Maybe some special quests where the reward is a special unit; like maybe UFOs crash in the earth and once you kill the aliens you can steal their technology or something.
And for the food system, I think you should scrap it as it currently is. It's nice but makes empires a bit too complex to manage; I agree where it should be focused on happiness. I think the food system should revolve around more like the basic food counter; perhaps you have to build farms to increase your maximum army size. I don't think it's great how it is currently; you're always stuck at 75 food no matter what. Also some units should cost more food than others because otherwise it just becomes mass robotic fighters/atomic bombers all the time.

i think the alien thingy is funny but it might be worth the efford this would be a good empire quest. about the other things; empire is going to be entirely revamped. the food system will also get lots of changes (not entirely sure about empire changes since squads doing that)

I remember when the towns weren't in set places but spawned randomly on the map and you went through the whole game trying to find one, and they didn't pop up until like the very end haha
