hey i've finally gotten around to playing some hae2 and I feel I must put my 2cents in...(sorry if this isnt the 'correct' thread to post it in) -Difficulty levels seem to be at a good scale(only played weak average and strong) although somewhat difficult compared to HaE1, which I see was intended -The 'new' empire feel is good, and I guess I will have to find a new way to build efficiently, since roads are so big and there are no tiny campfires oh and towers need either more range or more hp -Hero move speed either needs to be improved for all heroes or there needs to be a standard teleport-type move, that maybe changes based on your hero type. Examples: --Heroes with no 'specialty' yet(with the +40% exp boost still) also recieve a +% move speed increase --Heroes with an existing Town Hall/Capitol get a spell that teleports them to that building, cast time/cooldown balance would need to exist, but how much I dont know(would work like roar tho, dont need to target hall) --Heroes with a Hideout have the same spell as above, but maybe with less cooldown and more cast time --Heroes with mercenaries have the Recall spell, the one that the flags in GoE(1) have. ---The last three suggestions there were, I feel, needed changes because of how vulnerable you are after only one death, the first was simply a balance feature. -Terrain does not seem to afford for very large empires, particularly since you are limited to only one town hall... or can you buy and build a second from the towns?(didnt think to try that till just now..) -At first I would have said that there needs to be a way to quickly build an empire, but having played a little more I see that if you cut that exp rate off too fast then you may fall behind your enemies in power and ultimately lose by rushing too fast. -Builders'(hideout heroes) towers are much too powerful, or at least too easy to level. Also, is this meant to be played by the public? I have now joined 2 games of HaE2 5.9 that other people hosted, and was never quite sure what to do or say.... but the general thought is that the game is 'too hard' or 'just stupid.' This was either because the person was assaulted while near a power circle, or had just revived on the side of the map opposite his base.

I guess its not the wrong topic to post this in so ill just anwer it first of all; it wasnt ment to be published but it wasnt like this was unexpected. anyway; the difficulty is the same as hae1 but all just a bit stronger than usual, so when u get average in hae2, this will be like very strong in hae1. i gotta agree with you on the empire thing but why mentioning it? . - Hero movement speed doesnt need any improvement imo, its good the way it is. this way quests take longer and it takes a bit longer to travel which gives you more of the adventure feeling - Dno bout tower range/hp. - I dont think there should be a movement increase, a hero with an empire shouldnt be like 'very slow' just because of that, takes away the fun of the hero you've got. - Maybe, but what if ur hero's got more than one town hall?. - Same problem.... - Don't know what u mean . - Don't forget the game still isnt balanced and it even needs more adds since its still in alpha. this game isnt finished. more things will be added in time. - Terrain affords plenty of territories that are buildable for one or more empires, this has been taken care of. if you disagree you either build in a different way than you are supposed to or you havent discovered anything yet. if you dont agree on this... well.. give me some suggestions . - Don't forget you still got your hero to use (imagine how this would be with less movements speed... i wouldnt like it). - Didn't get to that myself. we'll see what happens till we get on beta testing. Don't completely understand what you mean with the general thing though. Thanks for posting!

Time for another post . Tower range/hp is fine, i made tower hp lower so walls wouldn't be useless. The range, the towers outrange everything but the V2 rocket launcher, only the gun tower doesn't but his damage is really high compared to the others. Also towers do not cost any income like the units do. And can be fairly easy improved by tech. On all the teleport thingies, i was thinking of making your hero respawn beside your townhall if he died but the problem hereby was that your townhall might have been "camped". Perhaps i should make a check to see weither the townhall is taking damage or not. You cant build more then 1 townhall in hae2. Hero perhaps should have an ability to call his mercs like in hae1 i aggree on this. Towers are already nerfed in version 6.1 but it still needs some tunings to do. The difficulty i was thinking of making easy even easier because many people think its too hard, higher difficulties should be as they are now.

fletcher GoE hasnt much to do with this game since its alot different but yes, HaE2 uses the same road system even tho it wasnt copied from GoE so ur information is quite useless as usual

The empire tech-tree seems extremely limited to me. You make houses and a defense, and oh you're done! Although I couldnt get a single house to go over about 170 people.
Also I was completely unable to figure out how to get wood.

k, glad to hear we can host pub now--- its just hard to get a feel for it with only 3 ppl at a time.
Oh and i hope builder hero's tower has been toned down a bit since 5.9...(oh and there was a typo, said upgrade level takes 2 wood 3 stone, but its 3 wood 2 stone)
Also, how does the forge work in this? all i know is when i go to upgrade my dmg +4 it just takes the resources, doesnt give an item, doesnt upgrade my hero at all... Do I need to be nearby? Does it need to have some kind of weapon in slot1 to upgrade?
