im guessing that means a rework of exp rate and the current skill system... i hope that heroes still get better gradually. I hate games where u spend forever to get a boost and then when u do its super easy for a few minuntes until it levels out and you get another level. Graphic representation: HaE now: .../ ../ ./ /

level cap of 50 ehh? but the high levels is what I enjoyed about HaE take that away and I may forever play Empire!

i think its better to have less levels but big boosts when you level up like when some1s 5 levels higher he's unbeatable for u ;D

I am thinking about making all spells in jass so that loading time is half as long and more variability but it will be alot work and pretty hard. So i guess that i keep it like this for now. Unless someone else wants to balance the empire units . Then level cap can be anything right now with normal skills doing 1000 levels makes a loading time of like 15 minutes? To give you an idea 30 abilitys of all 10 levels gives an average loading time of 15 seconds. (average decent pc) So storing all abilitys in triggers makes all skills having 1 level instead of 10+. Ow and it allows alot of custom things .

that sounds fine, but the idea of leveling quickly but not having one level mean much is what is the concern. will a level 31 have a huge advantage over a level 30?(if both players are equal skill) I hope not. one level should not be too great a difference. having 500 levels instead of 50 would just be like having a 1280x1024 resolution for your computer monitor vs a 128x102... yea thats a HUGE change.
maybe have some kind of half-level bonus? every X kills you get a skill point, every X exp you get an attribute point, and every level you get one of each? that way you can be constantly getting something. if you are going to use jass trigger-based skills, you can just give every hero a set of arbitrary values like 'Power(dmg with spells), Recovery(cooldown of spells), or Concentration(cast time of spells/mana cost)' that you level up instead of directly adding to the skill level.
sorry if that didnt make sense, ask and i'll try to explain better

i think it would be nice to see people waiting for that one level up that changes his hero dramaticly instead of being busy with the character all the time. dont you think it would be better to just have a bit time between it so you can exp/quests? dont forget there will become alot of quests

But still, HaE when playing heroes was always by getting gradually stronger, NOT drastically increase in power.
