One thing that RTS has is the micro management aspect of the game. Is there really a point to having 300 workers to chop lumber? Condensing 3 workers into 1 worker is an idea. (that would be 3 seperate units doing the same job but only displayed as a single unit) This way you can avoid the omg 1000 workers syndrome, and at the same time, keep resource gathering as a main point for empires.

i thought limit was 75 before, and even then if u have 75 workers its nearly impossible to beat the game unless a hero lures kal to your defenses.
does this mean there will be either a way that combat units and workers use a seperate maximum, or that workers chopping wood has been redone to somewhat simulate farms?

well instead of needing 75 workers, ull just need a few... to build your empire the woodcutting system will be done automaticly

why the hell is 2nd resource farming limited to WOOD?! you could have so much more! turn that wood counter into a Raw Materials counter, and harvest wood, piles of rocks, ore mines, and more!
my point is, EMPIRES WERE *NOT* BUILT ON WOOD ALONE!

Every moment this game gets closer and closer to Empire Earth, and possibly even better. Stone Mining, Gold Mining, Steel mining, Silicon Mining and processing, Wood Harvesting, Oil drilling, Helium3 mining, and waste disposal. These locations will spawn randomly on the map at the beginning of the game. But that's maybe for HaE3 in the quite almost impossible Warcraft IV.

its feasible in WC3 if you know how to work multi-dimensional. Genesis of Empires 2 is a very good example of this. Go check it out sometime; instead of just 2 resources you have 10. gold is spirit, lumber is science, both used for training units and researching upgrades. the other eight are used for buildings and other stuff. Meat, Crops, Water, Wood, Ore, Oil, Money, and People. btw the people resource is just a counter for your population but its in the resource area so what the hell lol. so when you look at it like that, it could be quite feasible to input a multiple-resource idea. The question is, would it be worth it?
