a friend of ours was arrested for 'conspiracy to manufacture illegal drugs' meaning methamphetamines. The thing is, he and some buddies were just sitting around sipping beer and joking around about ways to make money, when one guy joked that they should try making meth. One guy heard all of it and had them all arrested, and after a short trial they were all thrown in jail for 13 years. 13 years for TALKING about it, for JOKING AROUND about manufacturing illegal drugs. It's total bullshit. I know he'll get off early for good behavior but dammit he didn't do anything wrong... they didn't even find any equipment or chemicals for making any.
