damn...i didnt even get to see HaE2 while it worked, i only saw the really old one that sucked, which was made a very long time ago and nowhere near done...

Just thought I would post some messages here about how Heroes and Empires 2 is going.
So far it is fully compatible with WC3 TFT version 1.24.1 and is running stably (I have not encountered fatal errors for ages while testing).
It however is still highly buggy (these were bugs present even before the compatibility problem and so are not a result of poor conversion). Many leaks due to poor logic in some of the systems have also been fixed. On top of that some of the underlying key systems have been optimized to take full advantage of patch 1.24 changes so they no longer generate unique strings (which leak and slow the map down) and so the map should run more smoothly. Hero units (not the actual hero players, do not worry about that) now get removed eventually uppon death which should prevent massive hero leaks building up. Many minor bugs have been fixed as well, including the skeltons hp and DPS output dropping upon levling the skill up every 3 levels (power should have a positive gradient with a spell as it levels up).
Problems that still remain are. . . Unefficent and string leaking coding for some of the systems and spells (requires careful rewriting of the involved scripts but this is not vital for a release). Loss of movement speed when learning some skills and using some consumable items (this bug currently a mojor hold back for any release scheme as it renders people affected totally usless (game breaking bug)). Missing skills for skill tree (atleast one of them is missing (or broken) for the mage hero, this should be easy to add though as it is very simlar to an already working spell). Some content is missing for gameplay, which still needs to be added.
I am hoping to release a public playable alpha by the end of this week, however you can probably expect it to be bug prone as I am continually finding new problems to be fixed. Also it is to help me get some encouragement to continue working on the map and it would be a waste of time if I never release it.

if this map is not finished i will kill you, final, and squad at the same time...using the weapon ive always wanted to test (IT EXISTS IN AREA 51 I SWEAR!!) a fully automatic 200 caliber handheld m&m + skittles shooter with a sniper scope using airhead glass, and using poprocks for gunpowder. this is not play, this is not a threat, this is a PROMISE!!!!
