It would be of high priority for you to make it so that creep spawn zones and dead item models do not hinder the ability for gates to close. Because I don't like to spend all that time trying to wall in an area, later to know that creeps spawn between them, or that they still act like the creeps are there.

well yes, the dead items do remain too long, i guess its one of the things we 'forgot'. but to prevent creeps from spawning, simply get sight of the area; place a campfire near the walls/defense (you can still get it within the walls) to prevent creeps from spawning right in front of it

To briefly explain the gate situation:
When a unit dies, it leaves a corpse. Gates do not close properly if such a corpse is nearby, and you will get an error saying so(good work on that final or squad w/e). Items are just like units, except you cannot see that corpse. So if you attack an item to 'kill' it, it will leave an invisible corpse. You have to wait the normal decay time (~1 min) for it to go away before u can actually close that gate.
About spawn points: As final said, having vision of a creep spawn causes them to not spawn. The best early defense is to just build campfires near all of the spawns around your base, which stops spawns near or even inside your base from attacking you, because they never spawn at all. Because gates and walls have small vision range, you should get a campfire there to have that sight all day and night.

On this map you can see HaE1's spawn spots, they're the green squares. On this screenshot it's easier to see the spots; black squares. HaE2's map. Note: HaE2's spawns aren't acurately spawned on the black squares but can anywhere near it.

The dead item models stay in place pretty much all throughout the game. Also to mention that sight of the area did little effect to prevent spawning.

if an item drops like a rock wood firestone gem etc etc.
you can just attack it with your army or a tower and it will kill it. and then you can close your gate.
and no dont give me that bullshit about it will wont close becuease i have done it more then one time and it works

In 7.3, if you kill an item, its model will stay there for the entire game if you kill it, and thus disabling you from closing your gates. DSG I have no idea what you're talking about, the models do not decay or disappear, they just sit there taking up space. Rocks, iron, and wood.

im talking about every version actually hehe. Maybe it is a cycle of body replacement so they stay until more bodies are made somewhere else? I know i have had to wait after killing an item before, but i have no memory of never being able to close that gate, so i dont know why our experiences have been so different.

I can give you two dozen, and the dead items DO stop the gate from closing in all versions I've played. Don't know about the corpses, I always have corpses near my gates from workers repairing, and I've always been able to close them. Final and Squad, you guys might want to make a trigger that lets workers pick up items and automatically drops them after 3 seconds or something, and prevents them from selling the items.
