But microing is not the point of being an empire...you're supposed to be an empire for crying out loud, not a lame small camp!

One thing I noticed in HaE is that I never ever needed to research masonry. If you protect your buildings with towers/units then they don't get hit If your non-tower buildings are getting hit, you probably lost anyways and masonry isn't going to help you get back in the game. I think you should add some sort of pharmacy thing to empires. Medicine is very important in the modern society. Maybe it could increase the chances of baby booms and decrease chance of plagues, or simply reduce the duration of plague and increase duration of baby booms. And one thing that really pisses me off about builder heroes is that they can't repair their stupid buildings. Once that lich drops a bomb on your buildings or once the creeps get really strong you can never get a base going without babysitting it all the time because they can't be repaired without a buddy empire >_>

alright so... Empire: add pharmacy for medicine researches Hero Buildings: give ability for full repair, needs: 1 wood think that should do the trick

wait.. dont the plague and baby boom bonuses happen globally? so how could medicine work? it would affect everyone.. does this mean rats/plagues/booms will all be independent of other players now?

Technically if you were 5 zillion miles away then they would be seperate, one area could experience a baby boomer while the other suffers a debilitating hailstorm causing people to stay inside and not produce as much taxes (I just made that one up and that actually sounds like a nifty thing too)

lets just stick to plagues only for now, rats give plagues (so arent diseases theirselves) and baby booms have nothing to do with medicine

If you act too stupidly, then your people should revolt. "Your people want a good leader!"

what i said about baby booms and the like being global was just how it is now. if player 1 is empire and player 2 is also empire, both at opposite corners, they will both have rats/plague/boom at the exact same time. the extra triggering of making these actions 'per player' would probably add too much size to be worth it

that and the baby boom, rats, and plague don't effect empires all that much... I never really noticed a difference if I was microing an empire correctly. maybe a slight drop in taxes to not get hit by the plague, but other than that the other ones never did much to help/kill growth.
