Perhaps a shorter/simpler game like "HaE lite"?

Hello this is my first post here >_<

I like HaE series a lot because it has a mix of many things and very addictive. (especially, an AI which is amazing and make me think that "Wow! I'm fighting with an intelligent-bad-ass enemies".)

I like the way of the map as it is but I think that it should have the "shorter" version of this map too for people who want more simple or shorter game for example, the people who have low endurance or didn't have a lot of time to play (I try easy mode and no armies already and still find that this game last quite long especially if the game has new players) before moving to the main map which more long and more complex.

The (proprosed) features of the map;
- Smaller map.
- Lower level requirement to fight the big boss.
- Easier+Simpler building and tech-tree for empire (no road building/module stuff, no age advancement [just stick to medieval age, no modern technolgy there]).
- Because the map is smaller... maybe more intense rebel fight/oberisk raid etc.
- Many other which suit to make the map smaller, simpler, and shorter.

They're just my idea... the original map already have the goods on its own. Thanks for your great creation .

HaE2 yeh... I just notice that it a little bit shorter than HaE1 (or because it's just beta ).

For the most part hae2 is in beta version ( almost done )right now final is still waiting for all the bugs to be found and is just to lazy to get out a new map i guess.

well its not like you can do any map editing royce
ye well i know most bugs now, the main problem is the remaining time ive got to work on it and convince squad to work on it too

- and a smaller map gives less options and stays the same every time, its fun to scout sometimes
- also, lower lvl req to fight the main boss makes the game too fast and easy, besides its not always about the boss; you can still do pvp.
- empire is as simple as it gets in hae2, but thatll get different
- ...
- i still think the time it takes to play a decent hae game is ok maybe a bit too long in hae1 but i changed some stuff in hae 7.3 that could make it more interesting

I don't think HAE is long if you keep doing quest that is, It the best way to get some good boost in xp.

You should and need to do the quest to keep busy but they stop giving out quest so you have to go out and find quest people not in the camps (which you see about 3-6 times a game)

...hmm. i guess it mostly depends on how people want to spend their time playing HaE ;D

For the most part it's longer for the empires, because they have to build up through the ages (which takes a LONG time, and a LOT of resources) before they can get units that can take on the big K man. Of course, the time needed to do this is dependent on the skill of the player.

Of course its debatable which side takes longer, as the hero needs time to get powerful, too. Maybe more time than the empire needs, but this still depends on the skill of the user.

Still, i think heroes have a better chance of killing Kalenden first

I have seen an empire get to the same lvl as a hero in the end game but his empire was not the best in the world you have to be good at doing 2 things. If u just set your hero in patrol you will get him some lvls but you wont get mass lvls you have to do quest in hae2

yeah its tough for both sides dependent on a number of factors, most notably skill and difficulty. Oh and a bit of chance of course, with the odd fire or rats-eating-half-your-food-supply or plague (all for empires only). + the obelisks and rebellion camps popping up all the time. Distractions, distractions...

Overall i'd say the time to kill kal (in HaE1) is about the same for a hero or empire, if thats what you want to do. If your goal is to kill him asap, you will be a freelance ranger or trader builder(well.. not anymore since it takes forever to buy items) for hero or a tank/resource/airplane empire and not hire anyone.

Also, a hired hero is the fastest thing possible at killing kal. I bet u can set a record if u take a fullhouse game with 1 hero and all the rest empires who hire that one guy at 100%. Hero builds forge and quickly makes claymore lvl 5, armor lvl 15, and maybe even helm 15 with his 360TP income. By the time this is done(possibly even before grace ends) then he will be able to go level on the 'hard zone' until about lvl 100. Go back to a camp, buy 2 stacks of hp pots, then go kill kal. Game in 20-30 minutes.

or you simply use the infernal tactic and end the game within 10 min... which isnt possible in 7.3 btw, got that fixed

We have done the mass hireing of a hero and we did win in about 15-18 mins it was fun

dont remember exactly with who but ive done it in 19 min myself with one other guy who boosted me. i guess it should be possible in 10 if there are ... lets say 3 people boosting me
