it would have to be a host-set option. YO FINAL are u dumb or lazy??? there u go that here is the right way to do it if u dont want people to build together then have host take it. But there is a bad thing about this... a "noob" could just move off some way and build there there are alot of big spots in the map and it does not matter becuase they are next to u in the end...

trip delayed for a day… Add I think this is a better way of doing it with ZERO triggers should you want to do it. Make it so the town halls are also classified as gold mines yes gold mines. Why you ask? Because a town hall cant be made with in a XXX range of a gold mind, and I’m 99.9% sure you can change that range. I may suck with triggers but I know my object editor, but I must say I have never tried this and in theory it would work also, this idea is STUPID! Why? Simple, lets say I build in that highly defensible (though small) in the top mid, no one can use the areas to the right or left of me! Or, I’ll have to place my town hall in a bad spot so it will cover the entire base area thanks to the resizable/smaller sized radiuses that allows some one to go into one of the near by spots. And then, even if I do that they could jest build there Town hall in a corner! The Idea sucks, even if you make it so it has to be in the town halls line of sight the idea would not work why? Some one makes one over your base on a cliff, beyond your town halls line of site but with in its, poof, you die (unless it has to be under construction.) You also have to enlarge its sight and give it the same night sight as day. But if you do I by trigger, do remove and not kill. Thus the town fall is never killed/destroyed In short, its flayed. ~Forest_Herder, the highly annoyed Alaskan~ P.S. Sorry if I got all pissed off ^^;

shouldnt u put that in 'power to the host, not the people'? everyone should be free to choose, maybe for diff only it should be host
and ye forest thats probably easy to change, but aint it fun to hunt down empires?

Idea about the roads and whatnot. First time I played Empire, I was annoyed. Why? Because building the 1x1 roads and walls and all that block-by-block can get rather annoying. i suggest doing something like has been done in Genesis of Empires; automated building. It goes like this; you pave a road, click a button called "Start Auto-pave" (at least i think thats the name), click a road, then the worker moves to the very center of the road, awaiting an Auto-pave order. using Auto-pave on a spot would cause the worker to go off to that spot, building roads all the way. This could be done with walls in much the same way. It would save a LOT of city-building time for Empires if this was done in HaE. I know Final agrees with me, i E-Mailed him about this. BTW, Final... your avatar is awesome.

i know building lots of 1x1 buildings can be quite a pain in the ass, its why we improved that system in HaE2 by chaining em up as done in GoE. and idd, i remember that mail at least, i think its done in HaE2... dont remember exactly, long time ago i played it. oh and ty ^^

You can do this where you open the building part hold shift. Click the road icon and like (still holding the shift key) click in a straight line and your person does it. It is weird be you can turn when you want it to.

hah, i couldnt imagine building with empire without the shift-build command. it also does wonders to make ure workers multitask. Tell them to build a few buildings then at the end of their work order put a shift-click on a tree so they dont sit on their butt
oh and /r rocks

Ya just just learn about that ^.^
You can get your worker to auto repair and then set up patrol on the roads so that they will repair and not be a pain in the butt (very good when there are fires you dont have to worry about it at all ) ;D.
