well not being able to host is a very common problem so it would seem apparently you're supposed to go to some site along the lines of www.portforward.com to get information about changing 'ports' somehow this will affect your ability to host. for me, all i had to do was cancel some unneeded programs.

basically here is what makes people unable to host...
hosting a game on bnet requires your comp to send and recieve a lot of information through a specific 'port' in your connection to the internet. You can think of ports like a lot of roads going from one city to the next. If your computer has a router providing internet(and most do, unless you are still on dialup) then your router may block certain ports in order to prevent people from accessing and maybe damaging your computer. War3 uses 6112(IIRC) by standard, which is typically a blocked port, for hosting maps. Joining maps does not require as much net traffic or uses a different port entirely, not 100% sure on that, but that explains why you can join games even if u cant host them. Portfoward.com simply gives you instructions on how to change your router's settings so that the port associated with hosting war3 games is open. This can only be done if you have admin access to the router. This means that people like me who live in college dorms will not be able to change ports, and some apartments which provide internet to the tenants will also limit this customizability. The same goes for wifi places like coffee shops.
Hope that helps..?

well not rly :/ kinda aware of most information you just posted. my problem doesnt really have to do with any of that. its just that some people can join and others dont see my games how do you explain that

probably just times out--- too much lag. a slow connection is even slower over long distances.
